Every year you say the same thing: You're going to do all your holiday shopping and decorating early so you don't get caught up in the frenzy.

And every year you do the same thing: You get caught up in the holiday frenzy.

With nine days left before Christmas, here are some ideas on how to get your home holiday ready, courtesy of interior designer Yvette Piaggio.

*Dress up your mantel with a mantel scarf. Adding stocking hangers, pine cones, ribbons or ornaments to the mantel are good ways of displaying holiday decorations.

*Place a little tree on a side table, holiday accent pillows on bedding and chairs, and decorative towels and soaps in your guest bedroom or bathroom to make your guests feel at home.

*Add festive oversized cloth napkins tied with a satin ribbon, or candlesticks alongside a holiday floral arrangement to your table setting to set the tone. Long chair ties placed around the back of your dining chairs add a classic touch.
